Faculty Concert
All societies are locked in a dialectic relationship with water over time. Our bodies are composed of it. We drink it to survive. It nurtures our food supplies. It falls from our faces. It falls from the sky, comes from the sea, flows over land: floods, droughts, storms are expressions of Earth’s climate. The theme of water for this fall’s Faculty Concert serves as a point of entry to the myriad ways in which we engage with and are in relationship to water. While not all works are explicitly ‘about’ water per se, the theme provides a lens through which to see each work as a unique expression of life in various forms- as water can take many forms. The theme of water is in support of Global Water Dances Columbus and some of the works of this concert will be presented later this year as part of its events. It falls from the sky, comes from the sea, flows over land: floods, droughts, storms are expressions of Earth’s climate. The theme of water for this fall’s Faculty Concert serves as a point of entry to the myriad ways in which we engage with and are in relationship to water. Faculty Concert
All societies are locked in a dialectic relationship with water over time. Our bodies are composed of it. We drink it to survive. It nurtures our food supplies. It falls from our faces. It falls from the sky, comes from the sea, flows over land: floods, droughts, storms are expressions of Earth’s climate. The theme of water for this fall’s Faculty Concert serves as a point of entry to the myriad ways in which we engage with and are in relationship to water. While not all works are explicitly ‘about’ water per se, the theme provides a lens through which to see each work as a unique expression of life in various forms- as water can take many forms. The theme of water is in support of Global Water Dances Columbus and some of the works of this concert will be presented later this year as part of its events.
